My name is April, and I grew up on a farm, surrounded by horses. From the very beginning, I was drawn to them — and I understood, even as a child, that these animals carried things in their bodies that needed tending. I just didn't yet know how to help.
That calling led me first to people. I trained as a licensed human massage therapist and spent years learning how the body holds stress, tension, and habit in its tissues. How compensation patterns develop over time. How genuine release can't be forced — only invited. That foundation shaped everything about how I work.
But horses never left me. A few years ago, I found my way to equine massage therapy — and something clicked into place that had been waiting a very long time. The principles I had spent years studying in the human body were all there: the same holding patterns, the same guarding, the same quiet moments when a body finally lets go. Coming to this work felt less like a pivot and more like coming home.
Today, I am a licensed human massage therapist, a certified equine massage therapist, and a reiki practitioner — currently working towards my board certification in equine massage, serving Chester County, PA and the surrounding communities. My work is about listening to what is actually there — not forcing, not fixing, just responding honestly to what each horse needs in that moment.
Chester County's horse community is extraordinary, and I am honored to be part of it.
Whether I'm working with a competition horse carrying the weight of years, or a retired horse who simply needs to be heard — my goal is always the same: to find a moment of genuine quiet together, in a very noisy world. I'd love to work with you and your horse.
Always Learning
The world of equine bodywork is always evolving, and I believe the best thing I can do for the horses in my care is to keep growing alongside it.
I am currently deepening my knowledge through certifications in Craniosacral Therapy, Fundamentals of Equine Acupressure, and a deeper study of Equine Stretching — each one adding a new dimension to the work and a new way of listening to what a horse needs.
Because the more we learn, the more we can offer.

"No two sessions look the same, because no two horses — and no two partnerships — are the same."
— because every body deserves to feel at home in itself.
